just reinstalled IW4M (altermw2) it looks ansd plays superbly, and has some old classic maps, ie crossfire, bloc, cargoship, all on dedi servers with server browser..

Ye outlook has been horrifically slow ever since they forced the change to it. takes a good few attempts to even load the front page.

Oh look @jonshirling, a dev on cod4 and mw2 for iw, now with respawn, talks about "why p2p is the WRONG way to go on mp" http://www.respawn.com/news/lets-talk-about-the-xbox-live-cloud/#more-1772

Oh look, microsoft taking note of their mistakes again for once http://gadgets-fevers.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/new-post-microsoft-admits-to-windows-8.html

lol surprised iw/activision havent cracked down on it again yet then. Might have a look at it whenever i decide to get windows 7 then assuming by cpu is up to it, i remember BO1 was pretty badly optimised so it ran terribly on my pc.

@jag, there is a way around the steamcheck with the mw3 version, you just add an empty folder with a certain name(cant remember which) , but since I owned the orig games I didn't need the big download, only the dlc's (which I didn't buy), so I guess same will be with bo2 vers, tho I have bought its dlc's).. there will be a way to ger the core game on torrent tho, and jusrt lace its files somewhere (not in progs/games/ root.. just on desktop or whatever.. and rename it to T6M like I did, and ceate a desktop shortcut, like is described in the links I posted.

It wont be free, part of the legal avoidance system they have in place means they have to have a steamcheck for the main game itself on steam so everyone would still have to buy the game, would just be probably more reliable servers and mod support etc. The only reason they havent added the check yet is its such an early build.
